Make your Valentine’s Day celebration extra special with one of the many themed events scheduled in Albuquerque.  From romantic events for couples to fun events for singles, you’re sure to find something to create a day to remember.

The Albuquerque BioPark Aquarium is offering a unique Valentine’s Day event to indulge your animal instincts and learn about the romantic practices of marine animals.  “That’s A Moray!” is an adults-only tour offered on February 14, at 4:30 p.m. (the 6:30 p.m. event is sold out!). Tour tickets are $15 per person and includes after-hours admission to the Aquarium as well as the guided tour. Due to the nature of the topic, guests must be 18 years or older.  Space is limited and the tour traditionally sells out quickly.  Advance purchase of tickets is required.

To enhance your evening, enjoy an intimate Chef-inspired meal at the Shark Reef Café with stunning views of the Ocean Tank. The 3-course dining experience is a fabulous value that is less than $30 a person. Entree options include a choice of tenderloin medallions with a cabernet mushroom sauce, salmon with basil crystals and a lemon pińon sauce or grilled stuffed eggplant with mushrooms, parmesan, smoked tomato coulis. If you want to experience the special Valentine’s Day dinner at the Shark Reef Café, call 505-848-7182 to make your reservations and obtain additional information about the custom menu. You don’t have to attend the tour to dine at the Shark Reef Café.

If you’re single check out the Friends and Lovers Balloon Rally, Valentine’s Day event.  Watch the balloon pilots launch 135+ hot air balloons while you sip on some hot chocolate or coffee.  Don’t forget to bring your camera.

The balloon launch begins at 7:00 am on February 14, at 5000 Balloon Fiesta Pkwy., Albuquerque, NM 87113 and reoccurs throughout the day.  For more information call 505-768-5366. Admission is FREE!
