The Northeast part of Albuquerque consists of the area east of I-25 to the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, North of Central and South of Tramway.  The Northeast Height is one of the top selling areas of the Greater Albuquerque area.  The Northeast Heights consists of homes built from the 1950’s to present day represented by pueblo,  ranch,  and contemporary style homes.   The area offers easy access to I- 25 and I-40.

Northeast Albuquerque Schools

Albuquerque Public Schools is devoted to increasing student success through a standards-based learning setting, supported by a structure of constant progress. And it shows! Three of the Northeast Albuquerque High Schools were selected as the U.S. News Best High Schools for 2014, and others are nationally recognized in other areas. Among these schools are The Albuquerque Academy, La Cueva High School, El Dorado High School, Albuquerque High School, and Early College Academy. Northeast Albuquerque offers community college through Central New Mexico Community College, and is also home to the nationally recognized University of New Mexico.

Albuquerque’s Northeast quadrant is home to the widest variety of shopping in the state. The uptown district hosts 3 malls and many other retailers, and is the shopping hub of the city. Centrally located and near the interstate, these include Coronado Center, ABQ Uptown, and Winrock Town Center. Coronado Center is a recently renovated traditional indoor mall with 200+ stores, featuring many well-known retailers and department stores. ABQ Uptown is an elegant outdoor shopping center featuring high-end stores, boutiques and restaurants. ABQ Uptown also offers grocery stores, hotels and residential areas, all within walking distance. Winrock Town Center features a variety of restaurants and department stores, as well as a state of the art Imax theatre. Albuquerque’s mild climate and significant number of sunny days allow for an abundant of activities in Albuquerque’s 298 park sites and the 100 miles of developed city and soft trails.  The Northeast Heights has more than 55 parks to choose from.
As places to relax, play, learn, and come together, parks are essential to the health of the city communities and quality of life.  On the east side of the city, starting in the Sandia Mountain foothills, you will find the Cibola National Forest. From the foothills to Sandia Peak, there are countless outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, rock climbing and hang gliding. The views from the top of the 10,000 foot peak are simply breathtaking.
